Only a few weeks ago we have asked for your donations to completely revamp our app to make it available in english, and now it’s time to celebrate. Our one and only app received a big update and can say more than hi, how are you…

A quick overview of the accessible Android app
The logo of our app features a cute robot that greets you with its left arm and blinking right eye.
There are five tabs at the bottom and they are
- Home: This is where you are going to see the latest posts and a content stream that pops up by pressing the open side menu button.
- Apps: This is the app directory where you can find all the accessible apps along with a filter dropdown menu that shows app categories.
- Glossary: This is where you will find out all about Android and accessibility related terms. There is also a dropdown menu where you can choose a letter.
- Jieshuo screen reader: It’s used by thousands of people and we thought of having a dedicated tab where you can safely download Jieshuo and watch the tutorial videos recorded by the Blind Android users crew.
- Forum: We have created a forum in where you can discuss various threads.
The navigation drawer has all you need to find out more about us the Accessible Android team and Blind Android users crew. Needless to say that again but we have joint forces
You can log in to app or create an account to make use of the forum or submit a content, listen to the Blind Android users podcast, find out who we are, read our privacy statement, follow us in our socials and contact us to say hi.
Known issues
Our app has some known issues and hopefully we will fix them for the next update. They are as follows:
When you create an account, your profile area may not be displayed in english. You can click on home at the very left bottom to go to the home page. We will manually update your language preference till we permanently fix this issue for you. Your profile language will not change the entire app language.
On apps tab, choosing an app gategory then going to the all apps list may result a 404 error. You can however, click on the apps tab at the bottom to go back to the all apps list instead while we fix it for you.
False facts
You may think that creating a web app is super easy and it requires no coding skills, because there are hundreds of free services to do it for you but what’s next? What your app can have is dependent on what those tools offer you. You can freely distribute an apk file but you CAN NOT upload it to Google Play.
Review policy of Google Play is quite strict and that’s how it should be to protect your device, therefore they don’t accept those web apps generated by free tools. Those services instead, offer you Google Play compliance service for a crazy cost to do it all for you, but they don’t guarantee that your app will be accepted by Google Play.
Our app is also a web app due to the fact that we don’t have enough resources to afford an API based app. But our app 100% meets the Google Play requirements and we don’t use any free tool to submit our app. It is developed by a professional Android developer instead and our app is coded native.
We hope that you enjoy using Accessible Android and it also becomes your go to source about anything Android and accessibility. We worked so hard to truly go global and looking for your support. You can send us a message or a testimonial using the contact form, submit an app that you like or a tip that you think could be useful for everyone. Let’s grow together!
Greetings from Turkey
